Communications and Marketing

Whether it's toothpaste or pesticide safety, if you want to reach people, you need an effective communications and marketing program.  Here are some of our recent efforts:

Compliance Assistance Centers, U.S. EPA
Stretton helped EPA promote its nine Web-based Compliance Assistance Centers for specific industries.  Each center offers access to plain language regulations and pollution prevention information.  We prepared numerous a wide array of materials, including placement of articles in the trade press, brochures, fact sheets, posters, rolodex cards, mousepads, screen savers, Powerpoint slide shows, bulletins, and a multimedia slide show.

Pesticide Guidelines for Physicians and Nurses, NEETF
As part of an interagency initiative -- National Strategies for Health Care Providers: Pesticides Initiative -- Stretton assisted The National Environmental Education & Training Foundation in developing an implementation plan as well as guidelines for improving the medical and nursing professions' ability to recognize, manage, and prevent pesticide-related health conditions.

Annual Reports
Stretton is skilled in summarizing and conveying key strategic information for organizational audiences.  Stretton has prepared a number of Annual Reports for the National Environmental Education & Training Foundation and other organizations.

Worker Protection Standard, U.S. EPA
Stretton assisted EPA's Office of Pesticide Programs in developing outreach materials on the Worker Protection Standard, the Certification and Training program for pesticide applicators, and a new initiative to teach health care professionals to recognize pesticide poisonings.  Products included three interlinked Web sites; design and editorial management of the fifth edition of EPA's Pesticide Poisoning Manual, used by health care professionals around the world as the authoritative source on acute poisonings; a Powerpoint slide show and accompanying script explaining proposals for revamping the Certification and Training program; a poster on pesticide safety used on two million agricultural establishments; proceedings of a workshop for health care professionals; and more.
